Health Building Cleansing Diet

with Bruce Burger, M.A., R.P.P., C.P.E.

The body is a temple of the spirit. Our lifestyle choices have a profound effect on the quality of our health and our personal experience of Spirit. Join Bruce Burger, Heartwood's founder, for a week of health building and spiritual renewal. We will cultivate purity in a quest for healing and vision.

One of the foundations of our health building regime will be a Sattvic cleansing diet. East Indian philosophy classifies food according to the level of consciousness it promotes. A Sattvic diet quiets the mind, brings peace to the heart, and heals bodily ills. A profound clarity emerges as we experience the healing presence of the Soul.

Our supportive healing circle will meet in the garden gazebo, communing with the serenity of Island Mountain. We will begin the day with chanting, prayer and healing movement. We will chant ancient mantras that cleanse the heart and purify the mind. Himalayan wisdom avers that the universe is sung into Being and that our bodies are musical instruments played by Spiritius the breath of life. Conscious sound is a key to healing and well-being.

We will spend time practicing easy stretching postures to dissolve stress and tension, mobilize joints, and facilitate a healing attunement to the forces of Nature and the Cosmos. Loving touch will be shared in Sattvic energy balancing bodywork sessions. Bruce will share his personal realizations of the sacredness and unity of all life in talks on Advaita, the East Indian philosophy of Oneness. The key to healing is Self-Realization. All of our practices will promote Yoga, the experience of union with our Divine Self.

You will leave the retreat with simple yet powerful practices for Soul Communion that you can integrate into your everyday life to promote health and well-being.

Total cost for 10 days: $1,400 for private preferred room, $1,185 per person for two persons sharing a preferred room, $900 for camping.
