Deepening Skills for Body Workers:
Attention, Awareness and Presence

What we pay attention to changes the nature of how we perceive. Our perception changes the nature of our experience. When we gain insight into where our attention is and how we are perceiving, we become more present. When we know where we are in time and space, we can support our clients in present time.

These are some of the concepts we will explore in this course. In addition, students will learn how to come into relationship with the Intelligence present in all living systems and facilitate the deepening of that relationship in themselves and their clients. Students will gain valuable perception and palpation skills, including specific skills for dialoging with the autonomic nervous system. A significant amount of time will be spent working directly with autonomic nervous system facilitation.

The curriculum will include principles from Craniosacral and Polarity Therapies with the intention of deepening skills of perception, palpation and presence. Together we will cultivate the ground for our skills as bodyworkers to be even more available to us and to our clients.

The course expects students to have a working knowledge of anatomy. You must have at least 3 years of experience as a professional bodyworker to enroll in this course. A sustained meditation practice is also helpful.

Margaret (Maya) Rosenau, BCST, RCST®, SEP, APP, Craniosacral Therapist and teacher.  Margaret’s journey to bodywork as a profession began nearly 20 years ago when she experienced something greater than herself moving her body from within. Her desire to come into greater relationship with this Intelligent presence has guided her ever since. Margaret has studied and practiced Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy since 1996, where she has found a medium in which to deepen her relationship to this Intelligence. She is a teacher for the Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America, and has taught in Canada and the U.S. Her love of teaching Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is effusive and boundless. Her intention is to gift her students with the support, tools and inspiration to be more present and real in their relationships with themselves, their bodies and the world. In addition, she is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and Polarity Therapist as well as a Prenatal and Birth Therapist and has maintained a private practice in Colorado since 1998 supporting a wide range of clients through their life experiences.
