Joint Mobilization Techniques:
The Return to Painless Balance

with Suresha Hill, Ed.S., H.S.E., C.M.T.
September 23-29, 2006

Bone is one of the deepest structures in our bodies that absorbs, stores, and conducts energy and information. Learning to feel into and mobilize joints has a profound effect upon soft tissue, connective tissue, energy flow, and the overall sense of well-being. Freedom at the core is essential to freedom at the periphery.

This class is a missing link for those who feel they need something to further assist clients through spasm, inflammation, whiplash, sciatica, stiff necks, pulled muscles, repetitive strain, and other types of chronic or acute conditions. It addresses the return to painless balance from several perspectives:

  • goal-oriented intake/assessment procedures
  • palpation/positional release skills
  • re-alignment with gravitational forces
  • identifying and reducing: primary and secondary lesions, hypertonicity, joint and connective tissue restrictions, the cause of inflammation, and energetic congestion/guarding
  • understanding the importance of the skeleton in balance and coordination
  • reviving synergistic vs. compensatory relationships
  • awakening body awareness
  • integrating the changes into daily life/preventive maintenance
  • teaching movement integration

Participants should be experienced bodyworkers with a good knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology.

7 days, 50 hours. Tuition: $695 plus accommodations.

Suresha Hill

Suresha Hill, Ed.S., H.S.E., C.M.T. followed her three degrees from Kent State University with studies including Breath Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Shiatsu, Breema, Polarity, Deep Tissue Massage, the Bowen Method, Applied Kinesiology and Hanna Somatic Education. She continued in the field of neuromuscular reeducation with classes from Upledger, Paul St. John, Judith Aston, and Anat Baniel. Developing her own style called NeuroSomatic Integration™, she discovered the importance of ‘differentiation’, the ability for all parts to move freely within their relationship to the whole.  She’s has a passion for sharing the significance of independent movement and the dynamic interaction between the core and the extremities, for which she developed a course to help bodyworkers to mobilize joints and soft tissue. Suresha has worked in spas, wellness centers, physical therapy clinics and chiropractic offices, and found rehabilitating injuries to be particularly rewarding. She began practicing bodywork in 1978, led workshops abroad in martial arts and psycho-physical integration in the 1980's, and has been teaching bodywork for over ten years.
