Repetitive Stretch Release Therapy

October 17-20, 2008
Repetitive Stretch Release is useful for any massage therapist already familiar with basic massage techniques. The purpose of this workshop is to expand a practitioner’s abilities to facilitate the release of tight or stressed muscles while maintaining therapist comfort. You will learn that applying this therapy changes the tissue within seconds; it works fast and can be permanent. Repetitive Stretch Release work is based on the foundational work of Travell and Simons who established and recommend the best positions of stretches for muscles. The two-second repetitive stretch is based on the theory that one can restore a tight, shortened muscle to its resting length by bringing resting muscle “memory” back to the muscle (Aaron Mattes).
The goals of this workshop include:
• Learning how to properly position clients
• Increasing knowledge of how to apply pressure and
stretches to specific muscles
• Efficiently and effectively release micro trauma within the muscle tissue
• How to incorporate Repetitive Stretch Release into your practice to relieve clients of significant pain
The Repetitive Stretch Release technique releases micro traumas in the
tissue, works fast, and nine times out of ten serves to effectively release pain
from conditions such as Frozen Shoulder, Low Back Pain, Whiplash, Plantar
Fasciitis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and Tennis Elbow.
Prerequisite: Participants must have basic knowledge of massage (minimum
of 200 hours certification).
4 days, 24 hours. Tuition: $350 plus accommodations.
