National Certification in
Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork

The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) was established to provide voluntary national certification of massage therapists and bodyworkers through administration of the National Certification Exam (NCE). This credential adds credibility to the massage profession and to the therapists who comply with the NCBTMB standards. Many states that require licensing for massage are adopting the NCE. Many therapists are choosing to become nationally certified and employers are recognizing this credential as a measure of the quality of work of an applicant. Heartwood's massage programs exceed the educational requirements set by the NCBTMB for acceptance to the National Certification Exam. After completing any of these programs, you are eligible and prepared to take the NCE.
